This is a delightful example of a chalk ware sculpture of an Elephant grasping a copy of the U.S. Constitution between his tusks with his trunk. Carved into the base it states that "Life Begins In 40". There is a worn but barely readable label on the bottom of the base. It states"With Compliments Of Your Congressman Joshua L. Johns 8th Dist. Wis.". On the end of the base it states "c. 1939 A D Cooks Green Bay Wis". the condition is excellent with very little chips or scuffs. I've never seen another one like it!
